Interview with The Author
Q: Who designs your book covers?
Nolan: I do all of my own graphic design. Making the book covers is actually one of my favorite parts of the process.
Q: Do you use AI to write your books?
Nolan: I use AI for help with final editing, which I was taught to do responsibly in school. It’s very helpful and eliminates the need for a large editing team. I write every single book myself, and every idea is my own. I also use AI for market research. I plan my books much like a business plan—I know what the market needs are and have an idea of a book's potential for success before I publish it. After all, who wants to work for free, right?
Q: What made you decide to write about some of the most difficult mental health problems people face?
Nolan: All I've ever wanted to do is help people. One of my greatest strengths as a writer is my ability to not only relate to the material but also to explain it in a way that is raw, honest, and sometimes gut-wrenching, without embarrassment or societal pressure. I can’t tell you how many times I've sat in front of a keyboard, crying my emotions into literature. What most people don’t realize is that it's hard to explain what you feel like; sometimes, there is no word for it.
Q: What can we expect from you in the future?
Nolan: I plan to produce more material to help information technology students better understand the subject. I’ll be honest with you, when I got my computer science degree, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, so I have a lot of respect for computer students. I also plan to write a funny novel—it’s actually almost done—and, of course, I’ll be producing more books that dive into unheard subjects of psychology.
